Ethnography Observations April 9, 2010 9AM
On April 9, 2010 around 9AM, Virginia Tech students met an unexpected blast of cold this morning as they trudged across the drillfield this morning. A brisk wind and 37 degree temperatures prompted most to put on jeans and a sweatshirt. A few students however, could be seen in shorts, clutching their body for warmth as they walked stiffly across the drillfield to class. After 9:02, the flood of students resides, as most have made it to their 9:05 class. The Relay for Life setup on the drillfield was another surprise to the students this morning. Many students had to get out of the way of trucks carrying setup supplies or people setting up huge speakers and large, white tents. A large makeshift track could also be seen in the middle of the drillfield.
